Summer Term Forum dates 

DAG Community Network Governance Professional/Clerks Forum on Tuesday 4th June at 5pm on Zoom.  The themes will be Policy management and compliance.

The Safety Valve Programme Explained.  Thursday June 13th 6pm – 7pm. This seminar will be of interest to any governor or trustee who has been concerned about Devon County Council’s (DCC) increasing High Needs Block deficit.  Kellie Knott, SEND Improvement Director for DCC, will talk about the DfE Safety Valve programme that DCC has been accepted onto and plans to reduce the deficit..The aim of the Safety Valve programme is to help councils efficiently manage their spending on the high needs element of their dedicated schools’ grant.. There will be an opportunity to ask any questions you might have.
 
Environmental Sustainability. Monday 24th June 6pm to 7pm. Are you aware the DfE) requires that by 2025, all education settings will have nominated a sustainability lead and put in place a climate action plan, irrespective of whether they are maintained schools or academies. This online seminar will bring together leaders in sustainability in education across Devon to assist the school governance community to understand requirements arising from this DfE initiative. The seminar will also help governors and trustees to navigate the existing initiatives and resources available to enable progress with developing climate action plans. There will be contributions from experts from DCC and the Diocese of Exeter and it will include a question and answer session.
