Devon County Council has been issued a notice to improve SEND services

The Department for Education (DfE) has issued a formal improvement notice to Devon County Council for services for children and young people with SEND. The notice follows the joint Ofsted and Care Quality Commission (CQC) Local area SEND report, in respect of the SEND revisit which was carried out between 23 and 25 May 2022.

The inspection report states that the local area has not made sufficient progress in addressing the 4 areas of significant weakness identified at the initial inspection and allows the council 18 months to show significant improvements across the four areas highlighted by the report.
