f40 Group

The f40 Campaign for Fairer Funding in Education group was formed in 2007 to represent the 40 lowest funded Local Authorities in England with the aim of co-ordinating a campaign to central government for a national education funding formula

Aims & Objectives

The f40 Group’s key objective is to influence a significant change in the way central government allocates education funding to Local Authorities (LAs) and to schools.

The Group wishes to see a funding system that recognises the needs of all LAs and allows the lowest funded to catch up.

In September 2017 the government announced a new National Funding Formula for introduction from 2018-19. f40 accepts the new formula as a first stage of the necessary change required, but will continue to campaign for further changes that will make the funding allocation arrangement much fairer for all schools and pupils.

Devon as a Local Authority has agreed to continue working with f40 and DAG will post links to ongoing f40 activities and newsfeeds via our own newsletters and this section of our website.
