Ofsted have updated the IDSR

The inspection data summary report (IDSR) is a vital piece of independent evidence for boards on how well their school is doing.

The report is primarily designed to provide Ofsted inspectors with all the performance information they need to inspect, as well as contextual information about a school.

The IDSR will give an indication of the historic performance of the school but should not lead to detailed conversations about data on inspection. Any national data that is statistically significant and relevant to inspection will be highlighted clearly in the IDSR.

Ofsted have just released the following data to the inspection data summary report (IDSR) for secondary schools:

  • Key stage 4 attainment and progress data for 2022
  • Key stage 4 subject entries for 2022
  • Key stage 5 average point score per entry for 2022
  • Key stage 5 best 3 A levels and AAB including at least 2 facilitating subjects for 2022
  • Expanded pupil movement section covering latest 3 years and movement into alternative provision
  • Stability data and disadvantaged pupil group data (key stage 4 only)

For all schools, the data for 2020/21 exclusions data and contextual information, based on January 2022 census data was added.

For primary schools:

  • Phonics screening test data for 2022
  • Key stage 1 & 2 attainment data for 2022
  • Key stage 2 progress data for 2022.

As always, inspectors will use the official IDSR as a starting point on inspection (taking into account, for example, the age of the data), but will base their conclusions on what they see first-hand about the quality of education as experienced by pupils.
