DAG’s Spring Seminar on Monday 20th March at 6.00 pm will consider socio economic disadvantage, cultural isolation and geographic remoteness that challenges many schools in Devon by limiting their access to resources necessary for school improvement.
Recent research shows that the South West has the worst educational outcomes for disadvantaged young people in the country along with low social mobility compared with other areas. School attainment gaps between poorer pupils and the rest are the largest of all English regions at the end of both primary and secondary school. (Social Mobility in the South West – 2022).
DAG is delighted that Professor Tanya Ovenden-Hope will be our speaker at our DAG Spring Seminar. Tanya will update governors, trustees and clerks on the nature of place-based disadvantage in Devon.
To reserve your place and receive your online invitation email [email protected] as soon as possible. This seminar is free to attend for all governors, trustees, clerks and governance professionals in the Devon LA area.
