Across the whole country, Devon has one of the lowest number of schools signing up for the Department for Education (DfE) Senior Mental Health Lead grant funded training.
Devon schools are being urged to take advantage of this training as it is fully funded (£1200) and helps schools in developing a strategy for supporting children and young people with their mental health.
Mental health is an increasing area of concern in our schools and is impacting on our children and young people’s ability to attend school regularly and cope with the demands of the education system.
Unfortunately, the funding for this grant will be ending on 31st March 2023 so schools wishing to take advantage of this will need to complete the first stage of their application within the next week. Once they have completed the first stage they will get confirmation from the DfE and this will enable them to book a place on a DfE approved training course by the 31st March. The training needs to have started by the 31st July 2023.
It is hoped that a large number of schools will take up this offer over the next couple of weeks before the grant expires. The guidance provides further information.
