Ofsted has posted a new blog, aimed at parents where they consider safeguarding through the course of an inspection.
They explain some of the main activities they undertake and why and they note that schools tell them that discussions about safeguarding can sometimes feel quite pressurised during inspections.
Ofsted clarify what they mean by a ‘culture of safeguarding’ as they have updated their definition to take account of what they believe matters most. This is also a useful read for all new governors to provide a basic introduction to what Ofsted are looking for.
