Nick Gibb resigns

Following the recent cabinet reshuffle, Nick Gibb, Schools Minister has resigned. He had been a long standing minister with the Education Department and leaves to pursue a diplomatic role after the next election.

Former Education Secretary, Damian Hinds has now been appointed as a Department for Education minister of state. He is a former grammar school pupil and had served as prisons minister since October 2022.
