The Minister for Schools, Damian Hinds, has just written to governors and trustees to thank them for their continued support in improving school attendance.
The letter highlights the important role that governors and trustees play in overseeing the strategic response to attendance, including the scrutiny of key performance and financial data.
The letter goes on to outline the new Department for Education (DfE) data tools available to schools that aim to support a more detailed view of absences and can allow leaders to channel their efforts.
