Join us on Saturday 16th November at our free Saturday morning conference at Exeter Racecourse where governors, trustees, clerks and governance professionals can come together to hear from expert speakers on key educational themes. This year we are focusing on how all those involved in governance can be empowered to future proof their governance and stay up to date in a fast changing world. The conference opens at 9.00am with the following Keynote Speakers:

The Challenges and Benefits of AI in Education and Governance

Julia Adamson MBE – Managing Director for Education and Public Benefit for BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. Julia is dedicated to bringing life-changing benefits of computing and tech to everyone, she is an academy trustee and will be considering the challenges and benefits of AI in education and governance.

School Climate Action Plans

Nicki Schantz – South West Hub Manager, Climate Ambassadors. Nicki will consider the existing initiatives around environmental sustainability, along with resources available to enable progress with developing climate action plans.

Next Gen Governance

Samira Sadeghi – Director of Governance, Confederation of School Trusts (CST) on their work nationally, advocating for, connecting and supporting executive and governance leaders.

Risk Management in Education

Alastair Campbell – Head of Risk Assurance and Internal Audit at Bishop Fleming. A contributor to Academy trust financial management good practice guides, he has worked with education providers throughout the South West to help them minimise risks and achieve their aims.

Devon County Council’s Vision for Education

Donna Manson – DCC Chief Executive, will return to update us on the progress Devon County Council is making towards their vision for the future of education in the county.
