£21,000 per permanent exclusion?

Following Devon County Council making national headlines for asking schools to consider a new exclusion levy of £21,000, the results from the Devon Schools Funding Arrangements 2025-26 consultation have been analysed.

Over 90% of Devon schools that responded to the consultation rejected the proposal. The Devon Education Forum was required to consider the outcome from the consultation and vote on whether the proposal should proceed or be thrown out and on Wednesday of last week it voted to reject the proposal.

Would you like to be one of DAG’s representatives on the Devon Education Forum, to discuss and challenge financial matters that can dramatically affect schools within the local authority?  If so, then details of the Devon Education Forum election process that is currently running can be found here.  If you are interested please contact DAG on [email protected]  for more information.

Names of governors or trustees wishing to stand for election to the Devon Education Forum will need to be forwarded on [email protected] by 31 January 2025.
