Children missing education (CME)
Statutory guidance has been issued for schools on how they work with their local authorities to identify and support children missing education.
The guidance features a ‘summary of responsibilities’ document that lists the role that governance has in this key area. The actions that boards are expected to take to tackle this area bring together policies on attendance, admissions and safeguarding.
