Independent Review Panels (IRP)

The Devon IRP service are currently recruiting Ex Headteachers (those who have been Headteachers within the past 5 years) to sit on Independent Review Panels which review permanent exclusion decisions made by school governing boards.

Exclusion appeals are held either in-person or remotely; for those in person, travel expenses and lunch will be provided along with a small subsistence fee for any IRP hearing sat on.

Full training is provided as well as support from the Devon County Council Democratic Services team who have knowledge and experience in IRP hearings.

All welcome to enquire, although DCC are particularly on the lookout for recently retired Headteachers who may have more availability to sit on hearings. If you are interested in applying, or know of anyone who might be, more information can be provided  via the details below.
