The National Education Union (NEU) confirmed that there would be a ‘period of calm’ for the last two weeks of March while talks continue.
The talks are focusing on teacher pay, conditions and workload reduction. The Association of School and College Leaders, National Association of Head Teachers and NASUWT have also attended the talks.
In order to ‘protect the integrity of the talks’, all parties agreed not to make any public statements on the detail of talks, through the media or on social media.
According to the NEU, around 300,000 teachers across England walked out during the last two day strike resulting in 47 per cent of schools in England having to restrict attendance, while 6 per cent closed altogether.
