Big Green Week 8th and 16th June!

The Great Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.

Every year, people come together to unleash a wave of support for action to protect the planet. There are a range of resources including lesson plans, activity packs and guidance for teachers. The classroom activities for primary and secondary schools focus on how we can all make swaps to tackle climate change and restore nature – and the impact possible if we do this on a bigger scale.

Would you like to hear more about what governors and trustees can do about climate change? DAG is hosting an online session to bring together leaders in sustainability in education across Devon to assist the school governance community to:

  • Understand requirements arising from the DfE initiative and the governor role in fulfilling these and having a climate action plan in place by 2025
  • Navigate the existing initiatives and resources available to enable progress with developing climate action plans.

The 90-minute online session at 6pm on Monday 24th June 2024 will include contributions from experts from Devon County Council, the Diocese of Exeter, Let’s Go Zero and Climate Ambassadors and will provide an opportunity to raise questions with a panel of experts. The seminar is open to all involved in school governance across Devon and Cornwall. Please reserve your place by contacting  [email protected].
