Devon Ofsted Inspection

Ofsted will be inspecting the county in the coming three weeks.

It is an ILACs inspection (inspecting local authority services for children) focusing mainly, but not entirely, on Social Care practices and outcomes and is an important event in Devon’s improvement journey.

The format is very different to a school inspection and spans three weeks in total. However, Ofsted will also want to talk to a few schools about safeguarding and the overlap. They select the schools in a sampling exercise and they will ask to speak with Designated Safeguarding Leads.  At present DCC don’t yet know which schools this may involve, a briefing note will be sent out once the schools are chosen.

They will also speak with the Virtual School at some point regarding children in care.
