School Accountability Changes

Further to the changes to the Ofsted inspection framework and the introduction of report cards, information has now been released on the development of online school profiles.

The Department for Education (DfE) believe online school profiles will provide parents and the public with clear, reliable information to help parents make decisions about schools. They will feature the most recent performance data and be closely integrated with Ofsted’s point-in-time report cards.

The digital service for schools will enable access via a log-in and provide data insights into schools performance and support comparisons between schools for benchmarking. This is likely to be launched in 2026/27 following a pilot this year. It is intended that this digital service will replace ‘Compare schools and college performance’ and ‘Analyse School Performance’.
