As we are seeing more reports from Ofsted against the new inspection framework across Devon, it is great to see a report from a Devon school that met the ‘Strong Standard’ across all categories. Kingsacre Primary School in Braunton had their report published last month following their inspection in March 2026.
It is particularly interesting to read the judgement against governance that secured the ‘strong standard’ judgement. Ofsted says:
“Governors are highly committed to the school and the community. They have a deep understanding of the school’s strengths and areas to develop further. Embedded systems and processes help governors gain first-hand experience of the school. This supports them to challenge and support the headteacher effectively. Governors bring a wide range of professional backgrounds and expertise that supports the governance of the school. They ensure that the school fulfils its statutory duties.”
